feliz cumplianos a mis perros.

cutesy little white daisy look-a-likes we saw on our walk today :)

birthday boy #1: benjamin button.

birthday boy #2: owenski.

which translated means happy birthday to my two darling puppies,
who coincidentally turned two today :)
(today being June 1st, as of course, i am up late writing this, and haven't slept yet, so today, in my case, could still be considered the 1st.)
we went on a lovely walk this morning,
which at one point resulted in a minor leash rope burn injury on my left pointer and middle finger,
and played fetch for a good part of the day
(although their version of fetch usually consists of me throwing the ball, and them semi-returning it to me about 3 or so feet away, so i am actually fetching the ball to throw it for them again).
they feasted on a few lovely gifts of meatball and doggie brownie treats,
and enjoyed their Cesar selects fancy dog dinners.
overall, i'd say it was a successful day.
happy birthday boys :)

dedications:
- to owen: it's okay that you accidentally destroyed my fingers this morning. and thank you for always being the calm puppy that i can rely on when senior spaz-attack benjamin is busy having social seizures.
you're as sweet as pie. <3
- to benjamin: i'd say we had quite a lovely time today, except when you semi wanted to attack the horse we saw on our walk. but you were super verbal today and i really enjoyed that.
never change. <3
- to the grandpa in the garden: i apologize for the out of  control cursing that occurred right after the rope burn incident.
i could tell you were just horrified.

be sure to wear flowers in your hair..

if you're going to san francisco..

like i did sayyyy,
about two weeks ago.
p.s. post title refers to my theme song for the trip to touristy sanfran.
-- a.k.a. San Francisco by one Scott McKenzie --

i realize i am terrible at keeping up with my bloggity.
so i will now rant.
as previously stated
i recently went/returned from the ever-so-crafty
 (and cultural)
city of San Francisco.
boy was it neat.
and not just neat but like frkkn awesome.
and not only frkkn awesome,
but it also made me feel like shit about myself,
which i believe is sometimes necessary to remind myself to stay humble.
it was a slap in the face and a punch in the stomach,
and i totally loved it.
i realized and/or learned a few personally valuable lessons while in this beautiful city.
1. it is not okay to just live comfortably.
2. stepping outside your comfort zone and broadening your horizons is healthy, and i highly, highly recommend it.
3. love does not care about your sexuality.
4. poetry does not have to be a drag.
5. it is possible to be 100% honest with people you have known for only a week.
6. walking 13 miles in one day is not easy on the right hip.
7. listen.
8. you can't love both God and money. you just can't.
9. i may hate politics, but Jesus was at least informed, so maybe i should be too.
10. appreciate and give.
11. "to be unforgiving is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die."
12. ethnic food tasting such as filipino delicacies can be totally disgusting but the locals just love it.
13. if you participate in something called bay to breakers, you will see lots and lots of penises.. like probably a hundred or so.
14. the castro district has the best bakery in the world.
15. the GG bridge is the coolest part of sanfran.. jk. it's def not.
but it was kewl :)
16. hostels are gross but also fun, and part of the experience.
17. it is possible to find beauty and light in even what may seem to be the most devastating of places.

and yes. while in san francisco,
i met some gentle people there.

dedications:
- to my fellow sanfranners: i totally love you.

xoxo.

strawberry swing.

so here i sit.
once again, at a ridiculously late hour, 4:00 a.m. to be exact.
the only difference between this time and every time before is that i don't have somewhere to be tomorrow,
and that somewhere being class.
summersummersummer
is FINALLY here :)
it's about time if you were to ask me.
however,
the seasons seem to be a bit confused this time around.
i have a feeling we'll be skipping right over spring during 2011.
a short list of things i will be doing over the next few lovely summer months:
- traveling to ye old san franciso with a small group of people from the church i've been attending. can't. wait.
- traveling with the fambam to beautiful mexico. cabo san lucas to be preeecise. kenz is coming with us :) i love when i'm allowed to invite friends.
- house hunting!
- enjoying myself.

yeah.
it is about damn time.

dedications:
to my freshman year of college: you had your ups and downs,
but i can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve for next year.
let's try to keep the majority of it on the positive side.

xoxo.

i have something interesting to say today.

friday was my birthday :)
the big 1-9.
keeeewl, huh?
anyhowz.
i got a new phone which i just aaaadore with a capital A.
i also got to go out to dinner with the family which is nice,
to none other than my favorite rench-raunch of all time
The Cheesecake Factory
(classin' it up.)
however,
you will be just simply amazed at the next part of my story.
so birthday-day ends, and saturday arrives.
i'm just hangin' in my dorm with my roomie and you would just never guess what happened.
i received a phone call from my good friend mike.
and you will not just believe what came out of that speaker into that little eager ear of mine.
"I JUST MET ZAK BAGANS."
for those of you who don't know who zak bagans is, or how he pertains to my life, just stop reading now.
you're a shell of a human being, and should be ashamed of yourself.
look him up, then get back here and finish reading because you will just be oh-so impressed.
i then proceeded to "flip out".
asking where he was, why he was there, how they met, what was going on, and how to get there.
he said they were up at brighton ski resort and they just happened to meet..
(WHAT?!)
he then told me that zak and the crew asked him to be in a segment of the GA show.
i demanded that he put me on the phone with my future soul mate,
and was rudely hung up on.
however, the story doesn't end here.
because i am persistent and don't take "no" for an answer,
i then called mike, and waited impatiently until i heard the dial tone break, and faint voices speaking.
and yes,
one of those voices was the voice of
ZAK BAGANS.
i put the phone on speaker-phone so my roommate and i could both listen.
after no response to my yelled "HELLO!?" 's into the phone, i realized that mike had answered the phone and left it connected in his hand so i was able to hear a bit of casual convo about cameras and such.
so i about shit my pants right then and there.

but then the absolutely amazing happened,
and i heard the voice of my gem of a friend say something along the lines of
"Can you talk to my friend?... She's like in love with you.."
and then you will never guess who's voice i heard on the line.
...
i think i started seizing.
he asked me how i was and i said AMAZING
(because honestly, who isn't amazing when they're on the phone with zak bagans?)
i told him about how my birthday was the day before, and he wished me a Happy Birthday and told me that i share the same birthday with aaron (a crew member, in case you're an idiot and didn't know that), and that his own birthday was in 3 days, on the 5th.
i also told him that he's the reason i am so interested in the paranormal, and that i just might be a park city ghost tour guide. he told me they might have to come down and take a tour with me sometime.
i'm pretty sure a few other things were said,
but as i was in shock i don't remember them.
hi. best birthday weekend ever.
:))

dedicaation:
to BooBoo: thank you for being the best on-your-toes quick thinking roomie and photographing this moment so we can remember it forever.
to the GAC: good luck in your investigation toniiiight ;)

i recently made a decision.

to finally read this sucker.
it recently came to my attention
(or i've just noticed more prominently)
that i don't know what goes on in the Bible.
due to that i've been attending a new church more often as of late,
i've realized that i actually DO care to read this difficult, but important book.
difficult to read, but nevertheless, important.
it's not that i have absolutely no clue what the Bible contains.
i do.
but the only bits and pieces of this book that i have heard have been spoon-fed to me by my fellow sunday-school-goers or my churchy educators
(and i thank them for teaching me, and helping me understand the bits that i have heard)
but have i ever been able to really establish an opinion?
my own opinion about these stories.
nope.
i've recently learned about myself that it is a big deal for me to know and understand the basis of my faith.
regardless of whether i agree with every bit and piece of it or not.
i do not feel any different about my relationship with God.
if anything, i feel it growing stronger as i'm beginning to understand more and more about who He was and is.

so i've already begun,
and because i've never been much of a book-worm,
i'm still in Genesis.
i typically read two or three chapters every night,
and look forward to working through the whole thing.
difficult, but necessary.
what a read.

in other news,
i'm going on a ghost tour tomorrow :))
and i could possibly be the next Park City Ghost Tours tour guide.
so if you were to ask me,
i'd say that's pretty neat.

the best friend and me.

today is one of those lazy days.
but actually, this whole month has been a lazy day.
hi. it's only march fifth. let's not have a repeat of lazy february.

paul is home for spring break and is spending about 5 days with me up at the university.
today we went grocery shopping and rented the preeetty funny movie Due Date.
for some reason, i think funny movies are usually just better in the theater.
paul is afraid of downtown, so i don't know what our plan is for the evening yet.
but i ate a chicken pot pie, and puked it up.
so that was cool.

hey lazy day/lazy months.
let's get it together.
puking excluded.

dead-uh-kay-sean:
Paulmz: let's stop being boring. i love you :)

apparently,

I have been tagged.
Once again, by my blue-eyed fellow madgie, Courty.
Fifteen facts?
1. I have this weird obsession with collecting lotions and perfumes, regardless of whether some are the same scent or not. It doesn't matter how much is left of the said perfume/lotion, but I refuse to get rid of it until every last spritz or smear has caressed my skin with its scented blessing. In my dorm room, currently, I have 15 perfumes, and 10 different lotions. Yeah. Hi.
2. I'm secretly really embarrassed by my huge Swiss Army backpack that I carry around with me if I need to haul my computer somewhere. This backpack is actually bigger than me. The other day someone told me it looked like suitcase and laughed.
Not my proudest moment.
3. I am a personal hygiene psycho person. But ask me how concerned I am about cleaning my room.
Yeah. Not at all.
4. I actually think the - key is really funny, but only in certain situations. Along with Mexican-BBQ's and meeting up for coffee.
5. I love my Sony DSLR and wish it weren't so bulky so I could take it everywhere with me more often. However, with my suitcase of a backpack, that shouldn't be a problem..so what am I even saying?
6. I often paint my nails and peel it off the next day. One of my professors usually has a pile of polish flecks speckled around one of their desks, every day, at the end of a period. Which is actually another thing I collect. Nail polish. But after repainting and peeling every day, it is easy to run out of polish quite quickly. One might think a large collection of nail polish could be acquired.
This is actually true.
7. I totally heart Spanish. I would love to continue improving this second language, but I just can't seem to get around to doing so yet. I have a pocket English-Spanish dictionary I like to look up words in to try to improve my vocab. I super love it.
8. I have a tendency to stay up super, super late when I shouldn't. Get that from my parents. For example, I have a paaacked full day ahead tomorrow, and really should be sleeping. Yet, I am wide awake at 1:56 on a Thursday morning blogging.
Priorities? Let's not talk about that.
9. I am a God-fearing Christian. Sometimes, I find it difficult to bring up my faith in everyday situations, or even at all. However, like I said, I am God-fearing. And as it states in the Bible "..Whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 10:33) Which I do not desire at all to happen to me. So, in a nutshell, I am 100% Jesus loving.
Just thought I'd put that out there.
10. I love to put stale marshmallows in my ice cream/frozen yogurt. Today, I went to TCBY (The Country's Best Yogurt aka. frozen yogurt), and I took my own bag of stale marshmallows and didn't have to pay for the fancy fresh ones. So after I payed I pulled out my bag of stale ones, sprinkled some on my fro-yo, and just enjoyed the hell out of those stale marshmallows. Try it. Please. They have the most magnificent crunch I have ever experienced in my life. EVER.
11. I am terrified of having a huge baby belly. I would like to simply have the adorable baby bump that you see on the lucky little cute petite women. I came out 9 lbs 11 ounces and honestly, don't know if I can go through that.
12. My favorite show ever is Ghost Adventures. It is my dream to do a ghost hunt with them. Or do my own ghost hunt. I am convinced that if you are the type of person who taunts dark spirits just to get some good EVP's and static night vision footage, then you are most likely the most badass person to ever like..
live or something.
Just so badass.
13. My favorite movies are probably the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Also, I have always been in love with Frodo Baggins and Aragon. I used to wear the One Ring around my neck (when i wasn't concerned about a social life), and I always sob at the end of the Return of the King when Frodo leaves on the ship to Valinor. On the subject of movies, I can also quote the Phantom of the Opera the entire way through, songs and all.
I don't think I've ever actually admitted that.
14. I recently decided that think I want to be an high school English teacher. I'm a little terrifed.
15. I have a huge fear of going out to dinner with someone and having something in my teeth. Or even just having something in my teeth in general. I have gone to some extreme lengths to get the smallest things out of my teeth. Such as sticking sheets of receipt paper between my teeth to floss. I have good dental hygiene among other things, and my dentist told me he wished he could trade teeth with me.
I'm pretty proud of that.

Dedication: This one goes out to you Court. Just..well...because.
16. I am an objectumsexual.
If you don't know what that is then I am obviously not attracted to you.
That is all.
(:
